Odisha Health and Family Welfare minister, Naba Kishore Das has stated that all government-run hospitals in the state will have e-Hospital Management System which will help both patients and officials.
Odisha has 384 community health centers, 1318 primary health centers, 7 medical colleges and 32 district headquarter hospitals. As per the state health minister, all 1741 facilities will have the Odisha e-Hospital Management Information (OeHMIS) system within two years. The program is valued at INR 1,416 lakh and is currently under implementation at various government-run health facilities.
Initially, the program was piloted in SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack and Capital Hospital in Bhubaneshwar. After a successful pilot, the program is being rolled out in all the government-run hospitals in Odisha.
Among various other benefits, the program will allow for maintenance of patient health records and clinical care history which will help in improving health care services.
